Your adventure begins with the Conversation for a Cure fundraising lunch. Join fashion icon and Breast Cancer Cure Ambassador Karen Walker and TV presenter, radio host and podcaster Petra Bagust for an unforgettable afternoon of delicious food, inspiring conversation and an opportunity to support breast cancer research in New Zealand.

You will be greeted with bubbles and curated canapés upon arrival and live cooking stations run by Sugarloaf's talented chefs. This progressive lunch format allows you to interact with the chefs and engage all of your senses while enjoying their mindfully created cuisine.

Hear from Karen Walker, New Zealand's most internationally recognised fashion designer, best known for her signature optimism, energy, and chic-meets-eccentric handwriting. Engage in meaningful discussions with fellow guests about fashion and philanthropy in an atmosphere of luxury and elegance.

After lunch, experience an on-site activity facilitated by the Flockhill team. Retreat to a cleverly located speakeasy in a carefully restored miner’s cottage, where you can enjoy music from a curated vinyl collection or learn about Sugarloaf’s garden-to-plate ethos, exploring the gardens and extensive planting efforts that reduce the property’s carbon footprint.

THE ULTIMATE PACKAGE FOR TWO

Enjoy the Conversation for a Cure lunch event and experience, before retreating to your Villa to refresh and reboot. Return early evening for a bespoke cocktail and fireside chat with Karen Walker and Petra Bagust.

Afterwards, be one of only 28 guests seated for a unique dining experience, where Chef Taylor and his team will serve each course, sharing their culinary passion. Enjoy a fully inclusive beverage menu featuring New Zealand wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. 

After dinner, guests can choose to retire to the bar, take a moment to stargaze, marvel at the magical night sky, visit the speakeasy, spend time outside by the fire pit or return to their Villa.

Accommodation:

Flockhill offers luxurious Villa accommodation, including state-of-the-art Junior and Deluxe suites, each beautifully decorated with New Zealand art and furnishings and all of the latest offerings and amenities. Every Villa boasts incredible views and are all just a short walk from the Sugarloaf restaurant. 

The Junior Suite encompasses a king bed (or twin), ensuite bathroom, welcoming fire, comfortable seating and a private deck all set within native seclusion. Looking from your elevated windows up to the summit of Purple Hill, you'll feel part of the High Country landscape.

Make your accommodation a Deluxe Suite by including the lounge. With your own dining area, indoor ambient fire, and elevated doors that open onto a private deck with outdoor seating and a fireplace, you'll feel right at home as you retreat into your surroundings.

$4,000 Conversation for a CURE Lunch + Dinner + Deluxe Suite including Breakfast + Morning Tea

Choose from the Junior or Deluxe suite accommodation, with bedrooms available in either twin-share or king configurations. Suites are limited.

Wake up surrounded by the Southern Alps:

The next morning, breakfast will be available from 7am at the Sugarloaf restaurant. Enjoy the majestic views on a scenic walk to nearby Lake Pearson, where the Flockhill team will greet you with tea, coffee, and a light morning tea before transporting you back to your Villa in time for check out.

Transfers

Additional transfer options to purchase to and from the property, include:

Self Drive: There is an option to self drive with onsite parking and recharge stations available.

Great Journeys New Zealand, TranzAlpine Train: Experience breathtaking views on the TranzAlpine train from Christchurch to Arthurs Pass.

Standard scenic class: $150 in each direction
Scenic Plus: $450 in each direction
Scenic Plus same day return: $800

Please note: The TranzAlpine train departs from Christchurch at 8:15am. Guests are to arrive at least 20 minutes before departure for check in.

The TranzAlpine train departs Arthur’s Pass towards Christchurch at 4:35pm both days for guests returning on Saturday 31st or staying the night and returning Sunday 1st June.

Volvo drivers will be at the Arthur’s Pass Platform to meet, assist and transport guests to Flockhill in time for the lunch, then returning you to the station in time for the return train service to Christchurch.

Driver Service: A driver can be booked to transport you in both directions for those attending the lunch from Christchurch: $750 one way.

Helicopter: There are helicopter pads available at Flockhill if you wish to land onsite. Helicopter transfers are also available with both Christchurch Helicopters or Garden City Helicopters.
