‘This is one of my favourite t-shirt designs from our archive and one that I know is beloved by many of our fans. I’m delighted to have it be available again to support Breast Cancer Cure’s work. We wanted a design that was beautiful, loving and optimistic. Chrysanthemums are symbols of happiness, love, longevity and joy. They’re expressed whimsically, with stardust all around them. They were hand-illustrated, ink on paper, in our studio by my husband, Mikhail.’ - Karen Walker
Karen Walker is a designer, businessperson, storyteller, marketer, brand and icon. She has also been an ambassador for Breast Cancer Cure since 2002.
Karen has garnered a stellar international following for her collections that cleverly play with cultural subtext, juxtaposing luxe and street, masculine and feminine, folk and utility, for designs that are both directional and wearable. Adventurous collaborations are also at the heart of Karen Walker and recent highlights include collections with Disney, Sephora, Uniqlo, Madewell, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron as well as a project with the Kūki ‘Āirani Creative Māmās.
Globally, Karen’s influence has seen her consistently ranked in The Business of Fashion’s powerhouse BoF 500, reflecting her position on the world stage, as an industry figure shaping the future of fashion.
