Carlson

Forget-me-nots are the symbol of love and remembrance. My inspiration is a 1930’s family tea set cherished by my mother. Although my grandfather was not known for romantic gestures, he bought it for my grandmother, Maisie, to celebrate their engagement and future marriage. Recently my darling mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 80. By being involved with Tees for a Cure I’m hoping to raise awareness for continuing breast cancer screening past the age of 75.

A celebrated New Zealand designer, Tanya Carlson is renowned for her refined take on both tailored and off-duty dressing. Informed by a love of traditional menswear tailoring, fine art and the fluid fashions of the 1930s and 1970s, Carlson garments convey an essence and lightness of being alongside an innate respect for the human form. Pared back silhouettes flatter the body, imbued with an inherent sense of grace, ease and motion.
