Think of the nine most important women in your life. Mother. Sister. Wife. Daughter. Friend. Best boss ever. Childhood sweetheart. Partner in crime. The teacher who believed in you. One of these women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Create Your Own Fundraiser

Make a real difference by supporting life-saving breast cancer research while engaging your friends, family, and community. Whether it’s a personal challenge, a group project, or a larger event, every fundraiser brings us closer to a future free from breast cancer.

Getting started is simple. Choose a goal that inspires you - run a marathon, host a bake sale, or honour a friend affected by breast cancer. Or, if you’re celebrating a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary, or wedding, giving in celebration is a meaningful way to pay it forward, instead of receiving gifts.

You can create your fundraiser using GivealittleGrassrootz, or contact us to discuss your ideas. Track donations, share updates, and celebrate milestones as you see the impact of your efforts.

Every dollar raised supports vital research projects across New Zealand, helping scientists develop better treatments, improve outcomes, and move us closer to a cure. Start your fundraiser today and join a community committed to changing lives.

For Fiona, the co-founder of Sidekick Soda, this collaboration is deeply personal. After losing her mother, Irene, to cancer following a long journey with breast cancer, supporting the cause became something close to her heart. Earlier this year, Fiona joined hundreds of hikers at Hike for a Cure, taking on the demanding Double Summit challenge across Breast Peak and Breast Hill in support of breast cancer research. Now, with the launch of Sidekick Soda’s new Watermelon flavour, that support continues - helping fund meaningful research for mums, daughters, sisters, partners and friends across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Drift for a Cure

Grief turned into purpose.

Michael is a Year 13 student at St Patrick's College, Silverstream in Wellington. On the surface, he's a young driver with a Nissan 350Z, a debut season under his belt, and Formula Drift Japan firmly in his sights. But behind the ambition is a story that shapes every single lap he drives.

Michael lost his mother to breast cancer when he was 15 years old.
"She was my biggest supporter. She never got to see me compete. I drive every time for her - and so that other families may not have to suffer the loss that we have."

Michael doesn't just race. He races with the weight of what his family has been through - and the fierce hope that no other family has to face the same thing. Breast Cancer Cure funds the research that makes that possible: world-class New Zealand scientists working to detect, treat, and ultimately end this disease.

When Michael drifts, his mum is in every corner. And when people donate, they're honouring that bond - and protecting someone else's. Drift for a Cure was born from love and loss, and Michael has honoured his mum in the most powerful way - turning grief into action, and momentum into impact.

Michael recently competed at the 2026 National Drifting Championship Grand Finale at Mercury Baypark Stadium, Mt Maunganui - bringing speed, skill, and purpose to one of New Zealand's biggest motorsport stages. Through his drive, in every sense, Michael is helping to raise vital awareness and funds for research into prevention, early detection, and improved treatment outcomes for breast cancer in Aotearoa.

Donate today to support Michael and be part of something powerful.

Wāhine Toa Firefighters Calendar 2026

We are thrilled to be the charity partner for the Wāhine Toa Firefighters Calendar 2026 - a powerful celebration of the strength, pride, and femininity of our wāhine in uniform from across Aotearoa.

Thirteen women from nine stations across three cities teamed up for a powerful new initiative supporting Breast Cancer Cure. The calendar is the first time New Zealand’s female career firefighters have come together for a national fundraising campaign. With a deeply personal connection for many of the firefighters involved, this initiative was driven to support their friends and family touched by breast cancer.

Thanks to incredible support worldwide, we sold over 15,000 calendars - an outstanding result!

A huge thank you to the remarkable Wāhine Toa Firefighters, Nicole, Samara, Zoe, Becky, Natalie, Kodi, Emma, Tobi, Sela, Renee, Carmen, Caroline and Corrie, for their passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to making a difference.

The Belinda Lally Legacy Project: Funding Research for Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Belinda Lally, known to friends as B, faced a Stage 4 triple negative breast cancer diagnosis in December 2022 - a life-altering moment that marked the beginning of her search for a miracle. Even in the face of this incurable disease, B’s courage, hope, and determination never wavered.

Just days before she passed in May 2024, B gave her friend Charmeyne two big thumbs up to create the Belinda Lally Legacy Project, a special initiative funding research into triple negative breast cancer with Breast Cancer Cure (BCC).

This legacy project supports vital research to better understand triple negative breast cancer, providing hope and life-saving advances for the next generation of New Zealand women. B’s passion and generosity continue to make a difference, turning her fight into a lasting impact for others.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters, the Belinda Lally Legacy Project has already raised $52,000. These funds have been granted to Dr. Hossein Jahedi at the University of Auckland for his project, “Shielding” Macrophages: Uncovering Immune-Mediated Chemoresistance in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

To join this important cause and make a difference, donate today and be part of B’s enduring legacy. Every contribution helps drive life-saving discoveries and brings hope to the next generation of New Zealand women.

Breast Cancer Cure x Untouched World: Rubbish Yarn Project

We’re proud to partner with Untouched World on a project that brings together sustainability and purpose. The Breast Cancer Cure x Rubbish Yarn initiative transforms pre-loved garments into something new - supporting life-saving breast cancer research.

Donate your well-loved wool or natural fibre garments in shades of pink or red, and help create sustainable yarn for a future Untouched World collection. Together, we’re turning garments into something meaningful - woven with care, community, and hope.

How It Works

  • Donate wool or natural fibre garments (no synthetics)
  • Drop off at any Untouched World store or send to head office (Breast Cancer Cure Campaign)
  • Vote for the garment you’d love to see created

A portion of proceeds from the collection will support Breast Cancer Cure, helping fund vital research and improve outcomes for those affected by breast cancer.

Accepted fibres: Wool, merino, possum, cashmere (including silk blends), alpaca, yak.

Tokomanawa Queens x Breast Cancer Cure

In 2025, the Tokomanawa Queens honoured the life of basketball star Tiana Mangakahia through a powerful tribute - selling a special-edition tee designed by Kiri Nathan and raffling Tiana’s playing singlet during their Piki Pink Round home games. It was a moving celebration of her strength, spirit, and enduring legacy.

In 2026, this partnership continued with a special-edition hoodie as part of Tees for a Cure Winter 2026, carrying Tiana’s story forward and supporting life-saving breast cancer research.

The design reimagines a queen’s crown as a handwoven pare crafted from harakeke - symbolising strength, connection to the whenua, and te ao Māori. Natural fibres replace gold and gems, celebrating resilience, dignity, and the beauty of what grounds us. Paired with the reo Māori phrase “Tukua kia kūini” - Be Queenly, the piece honours Tiana’s journey, her courage, and the spirit of a true queen.

More than a garment, this is a tribute - to her fight, her legacy, and the freedom to live with strength, elegance, and courage.

“Cancer does scare me, but not living life to its full potential scares me even more.”
- Tiana Mangakahia

“I have developed a number of projects in the area of genomic health, to better understand why some people develop breast cancer and to help doctors prevent or treat this disease. Our research has been made possible through funding received outside my University from agencies and charities, including Breast Cancer Cure.”
