The Belinda Lally Legacy Project: Funding Research for Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Belinda Lally, known to friends as B, faced a Stage 4 triple negative breast cancer diagnosis in December 2022 - a life-altering moment that marked the beginning of her search for a miracle. Even in the face of this incurable disease, B’s courage, hope, and determination never wavered.
Just days before she passed in May 2024, B gave her friend Charmeyne two big thumbs up to create the Belinda Lally Legacy Project, a special initiative funding research into triple negative breast cancer with Breast Cancer Cure (BCC).
This legacy project supports vital research to better understand triple negative breast cancer, providing hope and life-saving advances for the next generation of New Zealand women. B’s passion and generosity continue to make a difference, turning her fight into a lasting impact for others.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters, the Belinda Lally Legacy Project has already raised $52,000. These funds have been granted to Dr. Hossein Jahedi at the University of Auckland for his project, “Shielding” Macrophages: Uncovering Immune-Mediated Chemoresistance in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
To join this important cause and make a difference, donate today and be part of B’s enduring legacy. Every contribution helps drive life-saving discoveries and brings hope to the next generation of New Zealand women.
